Connect your AI assistant
Turn your notes into a document
Give your assistant your notes and ask it to make a guide, project plan or
diagram in Unpaged. It can put the main topics on one canvas and link each
topic to another canvas with the details.
You can check and edit the result in Unpaged, present it to others, or share
a link for them to read.
Unpaged connects through Model Context Protocol (MCP), which lets
your assistant read and edit your Unpaged documents.
Plugins for Claude Code and Codex
In Claude Code, the Unpaged plugin listens for comments on every document
Claude creates or edits. Mention @agent in a comment on the
canvas, and Claude reads it in that session, makes the changes you ask for and
replies in the thread. A line above Claude Code's prompt shows which documents
it is listening to.
In Codex, the plugin listens for comments on the visual plans it makes. Wait
for Codex to confirm it is listening before you comment.
Both plugins turn your plan into a diagram when you ask for a visual plan.
Open a step to see its task checklist.
Keep your computer and assistant running while listening. The plugins check for comments
every 30 seconds, or every 60 seconds after an hour without new comments.
Your assistant may need your approval before it changes a document.
Claude Code
The Unpaged plugin adds this server, passes your @agent
comments to Claude on every document it creates or edits, and adds
/unpaged:visual-plan. Comments need Node.js 22 or later and
Claude Code 2.1.287 or later.
In macOS, Linux, WSL, or PowerShell 7+, run this command in your terminal to
add the marketplace, install the plugin, and sign in:
claude plugin marketplace add unpaged/plugins && claude plugin install unpaged@unpaged && claude mcp login plugin:unpaged:unpaged
Using Windows PowerShell 5.1? It does not support &&, so
run the three commands one at a time instead:
claude plugin marketplace add unpaged/plugins
claude plugin install unpaged@unpaged
claude mcp login plugin:unpaged:unpaged
Your browser opens; sign in with your Unpaged account, or create a free one
there with Google, Apple or GitHub. Start Claude Code and ask Claude for a
document, or run /unpaged:visual-plan for a plan.
Codex
The Codex plugin is a preview for macOS and Linux. Install Node.js 24 or
newer and the current Codex CLI, then run this terminal command:
codex plugin marketplace add unpaged/plugins && codex plugin add unpaged-codex@unpaged && codex mcp login unpaged
Sign in with your Unpaged account, or create a free one there with
Google, Apple or GitHub. Run codex, open
/hooks, and review and trust the Unpaged SessionStart hook.
Start a new Codex task and select the Unpaged Codex: Visual Plan skill.
Confirm comment listening is active before posting an @agent
comment. Resuming work after a restart is still being tested.
Try these requests
Once connected, copy a request below and send it to your assistant with your
notes. Change it to fit what you need.
- Study guide — Turn these notes into a study guide in Unpaged. Put the main
topics on the first canvas, then link each topic to a canvas with an
explanation and examples. Flag anything my notes don't explain.
- Project plan — Make a project plan in Unpaged from these notes. Show the
goal and main steps first. Link each step to a canvas with its tasks and
decisions. Leave missing dates and names blank.
- How-to guide — Turn these instructions into a guide in Unpaged. Put the
steps in order, and link each step to a canvas with its instructions and
examples. Tell me what information is missing.
- System diagram — Draw our system in Unpaged using these notes. Show the
parts and how they connect. Link each part to its own canvas with the details.
List any questions my notes leave unanswered.
Connecting an assistant is free. Your assistant's charges and limits, and
Unpaged's usage limits, still apply. Follow the setup steps above: signing in
with Google, Apple or GitHub creates your free account. To sign in with your
email instead, create an account and verify your email
first.
The server URL is https://mcp.unpaged.io/mcp. Enable JavaScript
on this page to choose your assistant and see its setup instructions.
